What is your favorite format, and why?
Modern. The format consists of all the expansions from the time that I started playing Magic and it is extremely fun.

What is your favorite card, and why?
Ponder. I love the original flavor text from Lorwyn. "We see the same sky as you, just through a different lens."

What is your favorite mechanic, and why?
Flashback, because I love graveyard synergy.

Tell us something non-Magic-related about yourself!
I love playing games, meeting new people, and traveling. As an accounting student, I worked as an auditor in the past (but after I made my first Pro Tour Top 8, I switched jobs so that I could play Magic full-time).

What does being a member of Team MTG Mint Card mean to you?
As the founder of Team MTG Mint Card, putting the team in the spotlight is always one of my main goals. Last year, we placed 3rd on the Pro Tour Team Series and this season we hope to keep up our great performance and hopefully make the playoffs this time. It might not be easy but I like our chances.

MTG Mint Card Fun Fact:
Did you know four members of MTG Mint Card made Top 8 at two different Grand Prix on the same weekend? Lee Shi Tian and Jason Chung made Top 8 at GP Melbourne 2016, while Huang Hao-Shan and Eduardo Sajgalik made Top 8 at GP Detroit 2016!

Player Bio

There is no longer any doubt that Lee Shi Tian is the greatest player Asia Pacific has ever seen. Within the last five seasons, he racked up over 300 lifetime Pro Points, a testament to his talent and consistency. With five Pro Tour Top 8s and eight Grand Prix Top 8s including a win, he has proven to be among the cream of the crop, worthy of walking among the biggest titans in the game. He has also achieved Platinum status for four consecutive seasons and has attended the World Championship four times and every World Magic Cup since its inception.

Lee Shi Tian has also earned the nickname "Modern Master", by being the only player to ever make Top 8 in three consecutive Modern Pro Tours. A jolly good fellow all around, he is also the co-founder of Team MTG Mint card, a team that he has nurtured into the powerhouse that it is today while unifying the top players of the Asia Pacific.

I am a Store Manager of Games Haven, a hobby store in Singapore. I used to study games design while I was in school.

What does being a member of Team MTG Mint Card mean to you?
I am honored that I get a chance to learn and grow with the brightest minds around Asia Pacific and I'm glad that we have become friends who help each other out along the way. Having a team with a common goal is important because we can motivate each other to do well together and put our team's name on the international stage.

MTG Mint Card Fun Fact:
Lee Shi Tian, Eduardo Sajgalik, and Kelvin Chew placed 4th, 5th and 6th respectively at Pro Tour Return to Ravnica, coincidentally all three members' first Sunday appearances!

Fresh off a Top 4 performance at the 2017 World Championship, Kelvin Chew has quickly risen to international prominence.

Team MTG Mint Card

Player Profile

Name: Eduardo Sajgalik (@Walaoumpa)
Age: 29
Occupation: Community Consultant
Hometown: Canada
2017 - 2018 Pro Level: Platinum

What is your favorite format, and why?
Limited. While I enjoy Constructed tournaments, what makes Magic truly unique is that it is one of the very few Trading Card Games where opening booster packs and buildings decks from a very small number of random cards is well-designed. Gameplay wise, it keeps me driven to keep playing with new expansions.

What is your favorite card, and why?
Rifting Cloudskate. It is perfect. Almost never a dead card and it is good early or late. It is a tempo card that allows you to chip away at your opponent's life while disrupting your opponent's game. It's not overpowered and also saw Constructed play, I love it!

What is your favorite mechanic, and why?
Cycling, especially in Limited. Able to pitch conditional cards to find useful ones makes for more interesting plays!

Tell us something non-Magic-related about yourself!
Right now, I'm still trying to figure out what is the next step in life for me. Turns out there is no instruction manual or guide like in games. Right now, I feel like the right path is to get more involved with games, write more, and contribute to the community.

What does being a member of Team MTG Mint Card mean to you?
Being a part of Team MTG Mint Card has been critical to me - not just for recent success, but also for being a stable part of the Pro Tour circuit. It's great to playtest, chat with, and cheer along with good friends, even though we are from all around the world.

MTG Mint Card Fun Fact:
Eduardo Sajgalik could "easily" be eligible for 6 Nationalities. To date, he has played on three different National teams.

Player Bio

Eduardo Sajgalik is a multinational traveller now based in Montreal, Canada. Despite that, his Magic roots began in France, and he picked up the bulk of his lifetime Pro Points while living in the United Kingdom. With two Pro Tour Top 8s and four Grand Prix Top 8's to his name, he is also a Platinum Pro for the 2016 - 2017 season.

Over the last few years, Eduardo Sajgalik forged deep friendships with Team MTG Mint Card's numerous globetrotters during their escapades. As a strong analytical thinker who isn't afraid to speak his mind and share his wisdom, he is an integral part of Team MTG Mint Card's playtesting process.

Age: 35
Occupation: Pro Player
Hometown: Taiwan
2017 - 2018 Pro Level: Gold

What is your favorite format, and why?
Sealed Deck and Booster Draft. I get unique and special stories from each event. My most memorable story was during M11, where I drafted 4 Traumatize and 5 Tome Scour at Grand Prix Gothenburg and went 3-0 with it!

What is your favorite card, and why?
Lotus Vale. I love the art and the flavor text. "At what price beauty?"

What is your favorite mechanic, and why?
Erm... I don't know, but definitely not Miracle.

Tell us something non-Magic-related about yourself!
Before I played Magic professionally, I was a hardcore World of Warcraft and Diablo player and I even wrote strategy articles for games magazines. Today, I am a globetrotter and I've flown an average of 200,000 miles per year during the last few seasons!

What does being a member of Team MTG Mint Card mean to you?
I enjoy the experience of playing professional Magic with my teammates to pursue greater glory. I have more motivation when I am with my teammates than when I am on my own. We finished 3rd in the last Pro Tour Team Series and I am looking forward to improving our result in the new season.

MTG Mint Card Fun Fact:
Despite living halfway around the world from each other, Huang Hao-Shan and Eduardo Sajgalik made the Top 8 of Grand Prix Detroit 2016 together - both running nearly identical White-Blue Eldrazi decks!

Player Bio

Since his Pro Tour debut, Huang Hao-Shan has clocked over 260 Pro Points while racking up six Grand Prix Top 8s including a win at Grand Prix Taipei 2014. making him one of the most consistent performers in Asia Pacific. Age: 25
Occupation: Gamer
Hometown: Auckland, New Zealand
2017 - 2018 Pro Level: Gold

What is your favorite format, and why?
1v1 (Duel) Commander, because it's the only challenge I can win on Magic Online.

What is your favorite card, and why?
Stony Silence, because when you cast it someone stops playing Modern at once.

What is your favorite mechanic, and why?
(Ironically) Affinity.

Tell us something non-Magic-related about yourself!
Jade Druid got nerfed so now I'm playing Gwent.

What does being a member of Team MTG Mint Card mean to you?
Not only do I get to team up with the top players around Asia Pacific, I also get to team up with Lee Shi Tian!

MTG Mint Card Fun Fact:
Several teammates have attributed their recent successes to Jason Chung's valuable advice. For example, Kelvin Chew won Grand Prix Beijing 2017 by drafting a White-Red Aggro deck with six Cartouches!

Player Bio

Jason Chung is the first New Zealander to ever Top 8 a Pro Tour and was also the first to achieve Platinum status. He has also participated in all World Magic Cups since its inception. Known for drafting innovative decks, most of his success is due to his high limited win rate at Pro Tours and Grand Prix.

Known as the Limited specialist and the unofficial "Booster Draft Master" of the team, Jason Chung has formulated several Sealed Deck and Booster Draft strategies which have brought immense success to Team MTG Mint Card, most notably Amonkhet Block's hyper-aggressive strategies which took took the world's Limited metagame by storm.

Player Profile

Name: Yam Wing Chun (@walkingbye)
Age: 25
Occupation: Pro Player
Hometown: Hong Kong
2017 - 2018 Pro Level: Gold

What is your favorite format, and why?
Momir Basic. The variance of random creatures makes it fun to play while the format also helps you develop better attacking and blocking decisions based on the board state.

What is your favorite card, and why?
Lightning Bolt. 3 damage for one mana. Simple, powerful, and almost always the card you wish to topdeck.

What is your favorite mechanic, and why?
Raid. It makes combat very interesting because of the mind games. Am I bluffing an attack to push damage, or do I have a pump spell to cause a blowout? Or, is it really just a sacrificial attack?

Tell us something non-Magic-related about yourself!
I love trying different cuisines while traveling to different places. Sometimes, I will order a randomly dish when I don't understand a single word on the menu. I also recently start playing darts and I believe it helps me focus better and develop a stronger mindset and will.

What does being a member of Team MTG Mint Card mean to you?
I get to play professional Magic alongside many of my good friends. I learned a lot from my teammates and it has not only made me a better Magic player, but we also share a lot of great memories together. Being on Team MTG Mint Card gives me a chance to showcase Asia Pacific's talent to the world.

MTG Mint Card Fun Fact:

Player Bio
